“The Event” stars Jason Ritter, the son of the late John Ritter. Along with girlfriend Marianna Palka, Ritter created Morning Knight, Inc. The actor holds a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Ritter has acted in “Days of Our Lives,” “Swimfan” and “Freddy vs. Jason.”

Sarah Roember, who plays Ritter’s fiancée, began her acting career with her role in “The Grudge 2.” She’s also appeared alongside Shia LaBeour in “Disturbia” and was an Associate Producer on the indie film “Locked In.”

The series’ U.S. President is played by Blair Underwood, a seven-year veteran of NBC’s “L.A. Law.” Underwood has also had roles on the “Sex and the City” series, “Dirty Sexy Money” and “In Treatment.” The actor’s been featured in “Playgirl” and “People.”

Scott Patterson, who plays Ritter’s father-in-law, had the role of Luke Danes on “Gilmore Girls” for seven years, acting across from Lauren Graham. He’s also appeared in the “Saw” films, “Seinfeld” and the indie film “Highway 395.”

The eclectic cast of characters also includes Laura Innes, Ian Anthony Dale and Seljko Ivanek. Innes has a degree in theater from Northwestern University and has acted alongside John Malkovich and Eric Stoltz. She’s played roles on “ER” and “Wings” and has directed episodes of several TV shows. Dale has starred in “Surface” and had a recurring role on “Charmed.” He’s also appeared on show sincluding “24” and “Las Vegas” and has acted in films including “The Hangover” and “The Bucket List.” Ivanek received an Emmy Award for his work as Ray Fiske on “Damages.” He’s also appeared in “Heroes” and “Oz,” and on stage in “Cloud Nine.”
