Blair Underwood, who will play The President of The United States in NBC’s upcoming thriller, The Event, has been named as a presenter at the 2010 Emmy Awards. This is a clear indication that the network is pulling out all the stops when it comes to promoting what is already one of the most highly anticipated new series of the fall season.

Blair Underwood will be joining fellow presenters Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Eva Longoria-Parker (Desperate Housewives), Tina Fey (30 Rock)  and Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory)  at this year’s live Emmy telecast. The evening will be hosted by late night talk show star Jimmy Fallon.

The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards will air on NBC August 29 at 8 PM.

The Event premieres on NBC in September.
